Post Market Update- Sensex up 320 points, Nifty ends at 25,175

Stocks in the news-

1. Tata Consumer Products Q3 net profit up 36.3% YoY at Rs. 384.5 Cr.

Indian indices-

The benchmark indices staged a "smart recovery" on January 27, 2026, to finish the session near their intraday highs. The reversal was fueled by the official announcement of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement (the "Mother of All Deals") and robust Q3 earnings from index heavyweights. Except auto, FMCG, media and consumer durables, all other sectoral indices ended in the green. At close, the Sensex was up 319.78 points or 0.39% at 81,857.48, and the Nifty was up 126.75 points or 0.51% at 25,175.40.

Rupee ended at 91.72/$ against January 23 close of 91.94/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. JSW Steel added 4.40% to Rs. 1220.85, after its consolidated net profit zoomed 198.32% to Rs. 2,139 crores in Q3 FY26, compared with Rs. 717 crores in the corresponding period last year.

2. Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) rose 2.30% to Rs. 357.35, after the company reported a 62.29% jump in standalone net profit to Rs 7,545.27 crore in Q3 FY26 as against Rs 4,649.20 crore posted in Q3 FY25.

Global Signals-

Asia-Pacific markets rose, tracking gains on Wall Street.

European stocks were higher, as investors reacted to the European Union’s landmark trade deal with India and braced for a flurry of corporate earnings.
