Stocks in the news-

1. Steel Strips January sales up 17% YoY, sales volume rises 6% YoY

2. M&M Jan total auto sales up 24% YoY at 1.04 lk units.

3. Ashok Leyland total sales up 27% at 21,920 units Vs. 17,213 units (YoY)

Indian indices-

The benchmark indices ended on a weak note on February 01, after FM Sitharaman has raised STT on Future trades to 0.05% from 0.02% under Budget 2026. Among sectors, except IT, all other indices ended in the red. At close, the Sensex was down 1,546.84 points or 1.88% at 80,722.94, and the Nifty was down 495.20 points or 1.96% at 24,825.45.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Manappuram Finance shares fell 4.51% to Rs. 271.95, after Gold prices extend losses.

2. VST Tillers Tractors gained 1.17% to Rs. 5,598.80, after the company reported a 53.89% surge in total sales to 5,257 units in January 2026, up from 3,416 units sold in January 2025.
